Texas Bound

We left our home in Nibley, UT this morning at 3:45 am and arrived in Las Vegas, NV 8 hours later.  We fly out to Texas in the morning for Christmas with our families.  The kids did great in the car, especially since they slept for over half of the trip.  When we arrived in Las Vegas, we went straight to Gold and Silver Pawn Shop from the tv show Pawn Stars.  We went in and looked around and ended up having to leave because they were about to film an episode of Pawn Stars.  It was pretty cool.

After we left the pawn shop, we found our hotel, Circus Circus, and since it was too early for us to check in, we drove up and down the Las Vegas strip.  We have never been here, so it was pretty amazing to see all the fabulous hotels.  My favorite hotel, based on the outward appearance, was probably New York, New York!  The outside looked like I would imagine New York to look like.  There was a large Statue of Liberty in front of the hotel.  All of the hotels were just amazing!

After driving up and down the strip, we went ahead and went to our hotel, Circus, Circus.  It was huge, with several restaurants, live circus acts, a midway with tons of games, and several roller coasters.  Addison rode her first roller coaster today, and she loved it.  They gave us a room on the 33rd floor with a view of the strip.  The lights are beautiful.  I can see why this place is called "The city that never sleeps."  It was a great day in Las Vegas.  We will definitely be back soon when we can spend more than one day here.  But for now, we are so looking forward to spending a week in Texas with our families.

Homemade Bread

Because of all the recent events in our country right now, going to buy staples, like bread, in the grocery store has become very difficult....
