Halloween 2011

Over the years, Halloween has become one of my favorite holidays.  Not because of the scary costumes and decorations.  I don't do scary, but I love how much fun it is for the kids.  They love dressing up, decorating pumpkins, and especially trick or treating.  We had a great Halloween this year.  Addison got to wear her costume to school on Halloween and they did a Trunk or Treat. We made treats for all of her friends to take to school.  We made mummy suckers and wrapped Blo-Pops in white yarn and glued googly eyes on them.  She was so excited to give them to her friends.

After Addison finished school, we picked up Chad at work and took the kids trick or treating to all of the businesses downtown.  By the time we got there a lot of the stores had run out of candy, but the kids still had fun.  When we finished downtown, we went back to the house to wait until it got a little darker.  When we got to the house, their were tons of kids already trick or treating out in our neighborhood.  We turned our porch light on and left a bowl of candy outside our front door for all the trick or treaters.  Then we took the kids in the wagon all around the neighborhood. They had a lot of fun.  Addison told me she didn't want Halloween to end....very cute!

Addison was a Snow Queen and Rhyder was Shrek, of course!

We can't wait until Halloween next year!

Homemade Bread

Because of all the recent events in our country right now, going to buy staples, like bread, in the grocery store has become very difficult....
