St. Patrick's Day 2012

I didn't realize until this year how much of a big deal St. Patrick's Day was, until Addison came home from preschool the Friday before St. Patrick's Day and couldn't stop talking about Lucky the Leprachaun.  We had planned on making a traditional St. Patrick's Day dinner that Saturday, but wasn't prepared for everything else Addison was planning on doing.  She wanted to try and catch the Leprachaun.  It had become obvious to me that they had done a lot for St. Patrick's Day at preschool.  So, the night before St. Patrick's Day, Addison left some gold rolos and a green skittle out on the coffee table before she went to bed to try and catch Lucky the Leprachaun.  The kids went to bed and I went off to Walmart hunting for green and gold things.  We never caught Lucky, but we had a fun St. Patrick's Day!

The kids all dressed in green!

What Lucky left them-Lucky Charms, box full of gold, and a St. Patrick's Day book

Green Pancakes!

Corned beef and sauerkraut on rye bread!  It was so good!

Colcannon, at traditional Irish recipe with potatoes, cabbage, and bacon

And Dessert - not a traditional dessert, but was yummy!
